Translated in English to "Devil's Mountain", Teufelsberg is a human-made, small "mountain", constructed from the ruins and rubble of Berlin following World War 2. The location sits atop of Adolf Hitler's actual bunker, which was fortified so well that they could not destroy it. So instead, they buried it. Years later, a radio spy station was built during the Cold War by the NSA (yes, THAT NSA) to listen and intercept all things coming from the Iron Curtain.

The heaviness of all that history is imbued in the space and I like to think it translates into the field recordings as well. Transcend that heaviness by creating your art and making something beautiful.
